Reuse
Checked 21 October 2026
Kodak says whether Kodak D-76 may be reused depends on how it is used. It can also be replenished.
- stock may be reused
- 1+1 use once
Longer time for reuse: Increase the development time by 15 % after every four rolls per gallon (each increase on the time already increased), up to 16 rolls per gallon.
Capacity, as the maker states it: Full strength, with time compensation: 16 rolls of 135-36 or 120 (or 8x10-inch sheets) per gallon; with replenishment, 120 rolls per gallon. Diluted 1:1: one batch only.
Proper replenishment of Developer D-76 with KODAK Replenisher D-76R will increase the capacity of the developer and maintain process consistency without an increase in the development time. ... With time compensation, increase the development time by 15 percent after every four 8 x 10-inch sheets or 4 rolls per gallon processed. ... Do not increase development times if you use replenisher. ... If you use Developer D-76 diluted 1:1, dilute it just before you use it, and discard it after processing one batch of film. Do not reuse or replenish this solution.

A dash means the figure has not been read off the maker’s sheet. A guess here would produce wrong answers silently.
