Asahi Pentax S

1958–1959 SLR 135 (35 mm)
Mount: M42 screw mount (M42×1)

The Asahi Pentax S is a vintage 35mm SLR film camera built on the exact same elegant pentaprism chassis as the original AP and Model K. Utilizing the universal M42 screw mount, it was introduced as a slightly scaled-back, economical alternative to the top-tier Pentax K. It trimmed down the maximum shutter speed to 1/500th of a second and lacked the semi-automatic aperture linkage of its sibling, making it a pure, fully manual photographic instrument.
